Who We Are In Jesus - A Study In Ephesians
Ephesians 2:1-10
Two live-changing, life-giving Words – see if you can notice them in Eph 2:1-10. Oh friends, there is a lot to celebrate here!
1. We need to be saved – v 1-3
a. Apart from Christ we are spiritually dead
b. We are disobedient
c. We are manipulated
d. We are selfish
e. World, Flesh, Devil
f. Children of Wrath – Everyone has this problem – Romans 3:23
g. John 3:16 – if God doesn’t intervene, we perish, eternally separated from Him
2. But….God – God lovingly saves sinners, by Grace
a. Romans 5:8-10
3. God saves forever – v6-7
a. 1 John – They went out from us…
b. My Jesus saved me from…
4. We are saved by Grace, through Faith – v8-9
a. Salvation is His gift; His initiative!
5. We are saved on Purpose, for a Purpose!
a. You are His masterpiece – Poem – work of Art
b. After your salvation moment, there is no greater joy in this life than to know you are living out your purpose – doing exactly what you were created to do.
Let’s make it simple,
6. Have you been saved?
a. Have you received the Gift?
b. Not asking if you have been baptized
c. Not asking if you are a church member
d. Not asking about your family
7. Are you living His purpose, or your own?
a. 2 Corinthians 5:15
