The GO In The Gospel - A Study In Acts
Acts 4:32-37
The Book of Acts shows … The context is exploding Church Growth amidst religious persecution. How does the church learn to minister effectively?
Remember Acts 2:42-47 – that strategy is now being expanded and tested as the church grows.
The Holy Spirit puts the GO in GO Ministry – Spirit-led; Spirit-empowered ministry:
1. Begins with Great Compassion – v32
a. Like Jesus – Matthew 9:36 i. The Spirit within has His heart! ii. The Spirit within promotes unity and care for needy people
b. Open-hearted and Open-handed
c. Matthew 6:19-21; 24, 33
d. 1 Timothy 6:6-10
2. Recognizes God’s Great Power – v33
a. Their witness was focused on Resurrection Power
b. The Gospel has the Power – Romans 1:6
c. 1 Corinthians 1:17-25
3. Receives and Gives God’s Grace – v33
a. Awareness and Application i. James 4:6-8 ii. Humility is the hallmark of a Gracious Church!
4. Practices Great Generosity – v34-35
a. Happens when you realize how Generous God is
b. Knows you can never out give Him.
c. Celebrates how fun it is to try!
5. Provides Great Encouragement - v36
a. Joseph nicknamed Barnabas
b. He will be a central figure in the impact of the rest of the book.
6. Is led by Great Examples – v37
a. Includes great Spiritual Oversight i. For appropriate accountability, guidance, and coordination ii. Needs were met by the church; through the church; with the oversight of their recognized spiritual leaders.

a. Our ministry teams / committees are organized and populated to accomplish the ministries we believe God has given us.
