Know God More
Exodus 3
Yahweh – I am that I am – He is!
The God of your Fathers – they should already know him as Elohim – The Creator; El Elyon – God Most High; El Roi – The God Who Sees; El Shaddai – Almighty God – Now…, Yahweh – His personal, eternal name – I Am
I AM means –
1. Eternally Now – He sees their affliction – verse 7 – He sees yours, too.
2. Eternally Present – listening to their cry; knowing their suffering – Jesus, our sympathetic High Priest
3. Eternally Active – come down to deliver and to bring to the land of promise – v8; And, now – v9
4. Eternally Promise-Keeping – Genesis 15:12-14 – as promised – v12, v17
5. Eternally Providing (we’ll see this more next week). V20-22 – their deliverance will come from His power and He will bless them in the process – they won’t go empty! He provides
6. Active in your present – right now!
