1. Jesus saves the unlikely – 19:1-2
a. Tax collector, prostitute, murderer, Hollywood actor
b. Tattoo artist, Kat Von D; Justin Bieber, Alice Cooper…
c. You and me
2.Jesus saves the curious – v3-4
a. But where does the curiosity come from?
i. Romans 3:10-12 – No one does
ii. John 6:44 – No one can
3. Jesus saves individuals – v5-6
a. He called Zacchaeus by name
b. Meaning He knew everything about him
c. He knows your name
4.Salvation caused some religious folks to grumble – v7
a. Don’t stop for the grumblers – they don’t have a theological leg to stand on.
5. Salvation causes true life change – v8
a. Holy Spirit conviction brings fast and slow changes in the new believer
b. Our goal is to be patient in our discipleship, but also clear as to the Truths of the Christian Life – Grace is key!
6. Salvation comes by faith, alone. – v9
a. Another unlikely candidate - Believe – Acts 16:30-31
b. Galatians 3:26-29
7.Salvation is the mission of Jesus – v10
a. Remember who the seeker is!
b. We are like Him when we seek the lost…!
