Description

Eugene Nelson, affectionately known as Geno, is deeply entrenched in the interfaith ministry, particularly aiding individuals returning from incarceration. This isn't just a job for him; it's his "passion." Geno is integral to a 43-year-old non-profit organization committed to supporting justice-impacted individuals. These individuals often find themselves disenfranchised, marginalized, and underserved, and the organization strives to empower them to tap into resources and support services. The ultimate goal is to facilitate their journey towards becoming positive, productive, and contributing members of society.

Equipped with a Master's degree, Eugene honed his skills during his practicum/internship in a local district Senate office, where he actively engaged with constituents in the inner city of Milwaukee, WI. His educational and practical experiences form the foundation of his dedication to creating positive change.

Presently, Eugene sits on the Board of Directors for Prison Action Milwaukee Inc. (PAM), exemplifying his commitment to giving back to the community. This commitment is deeply personal, as Eugene himself overcame a harrowing wrongful conviction, having served 21 years behind bars. His lived experience fuels his passion for advocating on behalf of justice-impacted individuals. Through his work, he strives to ensure that others don't endure the same injustices he faced.
