Join Kendra and Andrea as they discuss the tenacity it takes in becoming sincere seekers regardless of the obstacles that come in to distract us. This episode is also very special because of their guest Laryssa Waldron that embodies everything a sincere seeker is. We hope you enjoy gathering with us and we encourage you to share this with your friends so they can gather too.
Laryssa Waldron Bio Laryssa Waldron is from Salt Lake City, Utah. She has a bachelor’s in English from the University of Utah and master’s in education with a teaching licensure from the University of Phoenix. She began the Preservice program at the University of Utah and upon graduation was hired at American Fork Seminary where (after 5 years of teaching) a student raised his hand in class and said, “You should date my brother!” She married that brother, and they have three beautiful children together. Laryssa taught English writing and rhetoric at SLCC and UVU, but Technical Writing was her specialty for 10 years. She has also been privileged to teach seminary (aka religion to high school aged students) for over 10 years.Currently, she has her dream job – teaching religion at BYU-Idaho, where she gets to spend time with some of the most amazing young adults on the planet! Laryssa loves to travel - especially when she gets to learn about different countries and cultures. With her family, she loves to play games, do puzzles, and cook together. Laryssa also enjoys learning about anything and everything. She especially loves public speaking, creating websites, blogs, TikTok videos, doing family history, and she has a passion for writing, and creating art and children’s books with her daughters.
Additional Career Information I liken my career to a boomerang. My jobs teaching religion kept ending, but then the Lord would "boomerang" me back in to teaching again. If you're counting - that's going through the preservice program three times, and getting hired to teach religion five times (five general authority interviews) and going through teacher training programs 7 times if you count my degree). Hopefully this time I can get it right (fingers crossed)!
