2. US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy met Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen in California on Wednesday. After their meeting McCarthy said that the U.S. should speed up their weapon sales to Taiwan in a timely manner.

3. According to South Korea’s Finance Minister Choo Kyung-ho on Thursday, South Korea plans to create investment projects worth 13 trillion won, or 9.8 billion US dollars by working with the private sector to preemptively respond to the threats of the economic slowdown.
