1. South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol asked Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Wednesday to include South Korean experts in monitoring the planned release of wastewater from the Fukushima nuclear power plant. Yoon also asked that the discharge be halted immediately if the concentration of radioactive material in the water exceeds standard levels.
2. South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol on Wednesday pledged continued support for Ukraine by increasing cooperation with Poland. Yoon made the pledge in a contribution to a Polish media outlet as he embarked on a three-day official visit.
3. The Bank of Korea on Thursday decided to freeze its key interest rate at 3.5% for the fourth consecutive time as inflation seems to have slowed down.
