1. South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol on Monday embarked on a five-day visit to New York to attend the U.N. General Assembly. During the annual U.N. gathering, President Yoon will meet with world leaders, and hold bilateral summits on the sidelines to win support for South Korea's bid to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan.
2. According to officials, opposition leader Lee Jae-myung was taken to the hospital on Monday due to deteriorating health as his hunger strike entered the 19th day. Lee was almost unconscious after showing a sharp drop in blood sugar levels and was brought to a nearby hospital at 7:10 a.m.
3. The Gaya Tumuli, which consists of seven tomb clusters dating back to Korea's ancient Gaya confederacy, will be added to UNESCO's World Heritage list,... making it South Korea's 16th site to be inscribed on the list. The decision was made during the 45th session of the World Heritage Committee, held in Riyadh on Sunday.
