Description

1. During a keynote address to the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, President Yoon Suk Yeol issued a warning against military cooperation between North Korea and Russia, saying any arms deal between the two would be considered a “direct provocation” against South Korea.

2. The National Assembly on Thursday voted on two separate motions seeking the arrest of opposition leader Lee Jae-myung and the dismissal of Prime Minister Han Duck-soo. Both  motions passed, but the motion against PM Han is widely expected to be rejected by President Yoon Suk Yeol.

3. The U.S. Federal Reserve decided Wednesday to maintain interest rates at a 22-year high, holding its key policy rate at between 5.25 percent and 5.50 percent. The Fed also projected another rate increase by the end of the year.
