Description

In our first podcast episode featuring Pomona College alumni, we’re joined by The New York Times bestselling author Richard Preston ’76. A writer for The New Yorker since 1985, Preston is the only nondoctor to have received the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Champion of Prevention Award.

In this episode Preston gives his insight on the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic based on researching and writing about the devastating effects of the Ebola virus in his books The Hot Zone and Crisis in the Red Zone. He provides warnings about other emerging viruses we should be worried about, and shares advice on what could be done to fight these outbreaks.
