The commandment to keep the Sabbath day holy is not just an Old Testament phenomenon. Like all other of God’s commandments, it is to be kept for eternity.
Sabbath is not about keeping a day in the week away from work. Rather, with Sabbath, God is calling us to find our rest in Him daily, weekly, consistently! It is a command to lay down our heavy burdens at His feet and take His, which is light.

Das Gebot, den Sabbat heilig zu halten, ist nicht nur ein Phänomen des Alten Testaments. Wie alle anderen Gebote Gottes gilt es für alle Ewigkeit.
Beim Sabbat geht es nicht darum, einen Tag in der Woche frei von Arbeit zu nehmen. Vielmehr ruft Gott uns mit dem Sabbat dazu auf, täglich, wöchentlich und beständig unsere Ruhe in ihm zu finden! Es ist ein Gebot, unsere schweren Lasten zu seinen Füßen abzulegen und seine zu nehmen, die leicht sind.
