Continuing from where we last saw Dom and his crew from Fate of the Furious, Dom (Vin Diesel) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), along with their son, live a quiet life far away from everything and everyone. But it is not long until Dom and Letty are visited by some old friends and are advised of a significant situation and new threat. While Dom and Letty wish for a new life of peace, it does not take them long until they decide to do the right thing and join the team once again to save the world. But this time, Dom and the team are up against a threat unlike anything before. Leading the enemy is Jakob (John Cena), who we learn is Dom’s brother. Jakob is keen for revenge on Dom, and helping him behind the scenes is the returning villain Cipher (Charlize Theron), a cyber mastermind of many things relating to technology.
