In this week's episode, we have the great pleasure of having Meg. Marie O'Rourke, RD-LDN on the "Trigger Warning Talk Podcast." Meg AKA MEGNIFICENT works as a Registered Dietitian for 15+ years. She has a diverse nutrition background in a variety of areas including Eating Disorders, Weight Loss, Cardiac Disease, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Food Intolerances/Allergies, and Diabetes.
Meg earned a BS degree in Nutrition & Dietetics at Saint Joseph University in West Hartford, CT. Thereafter, she completed post-graduate work at the UCONN's School of Allied Health. Meg established her own private practice providing nutrition consultations for clients with eating disorders, diabetes, food allergies, and weight management concerns.
We discuss her interests as a pre-teen with Medicine, Body Dysmorphia, boundaries regarding traumas with sexual-based offenses, ACEs from family members, substance abuse, Orthorexia. The entertainers Lizzo & KeKe Palmer came up in our convo and some of their recent controversies. Ethics, DV, Men & caregivers with Eating Disorders/Disordered Eating, EMS' roles, and the modalities are detailed as she guides her clients towards for healing & overcome these adversaries.
