Liz Durant is my guest this week. She’s a mom, wife, empty nester, personal trainer, fitness and nutrition coach, and a lover of all things active. And at the age of 60 she is also an ultradistance runner. I guess like some runners she gravitated toward trail running when the road running injuries began to pile up. Although her running history is relatively short (she only started running in her 40’s), her list of running accomplishments is quite long and includes more than 20 marathons and countless ultras. But of all those challenges, perhaps the most daunting test was navigating menopause. She applies that experience now to her peri- and post-menopausal coaching clients helping them build well-rounded exercise and nutrition programs. Liz is a firm believer that with age comes wisdom, but perhaps just as important is experience. She has both.
