In legalese, lawyers say that silence is consent.
So when an attorney doesn’t defend his client faithfully and cover all his bases or address all the issues so his client can decline the charges, that gives the plaintiff’s attorney wiggle room to work with.
Voicing the truth is important right now, but we must be careful that the truth we share aligns with good doctrine and facts before we speak it.
Fear of saying the wrong thing, fear of offending someone, fear of losing friends, fear of drawing battle lines. Who among us is not guilty of being silenced by one or more of these? And, not that you can see them, I am raising both of my hands over here.
It’s time to state the obvious truth that you have spoken quite loudly when you DON’T say anything.
