And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.” Matt 17: 20-21
We have a recorded account in Luke 10:19 of the Lord giving his disciples authority over scorpions and devils and they could tread them under foot. In addition, he also gave them power, “over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
However, during one occasion his disciples could not cast out a demon from a child and they asked God why.
His answer was that sometimes the kinds of devils you’re up against can only be cast out by prayer and fasting.
