The top story today is:  Extended Closure Information Updates

Well, it became final yesterday--We will not be meeting “face-to-face” for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.  I would like to review some of the changes that have taken effect.  If you are struggling to get Wi-Fi connections, please know that families can access the internet in any school parking lot, no password required. It may not be ideal, but it’s available.

• Junior High Jump Start teachers who teach HS credit courses will provide learning opportunities and will assign a Pass/No Credit grade.
  
• Work provided to students will not be graded, and we are evaluating how to exchange work packets between school and families.
  
• Special Education services will continue to be delivered to individual students based on the delivery method that works best to meet the needs of the student and family through the teacher(s).
  
• Parent Conferences have been replaced by weekly communication between teachers and parents (i.e. phone, Remind, e-mail, Zoom, etc.)
  
• Spring Break is being honored April 6-10.
  
• This information has been added to existing COVID-19 information on the WVSD#208 Website, www.wvsd208.org

Question of the day:  Who are the leaders in your school?

If you look up student leader on the internet, you’ll find a lot of information.  In your classes, you probably remember some students who possess certain qualities or have a way to get others to follow them. Maybe you are even one of these individuals.  If you are and you happen to be an 8th grader, there’s going to be an opportunity for you to run for an elected office and become a student leader.

I believe that leaders are made, not born.  So, who are the leaders in your school?  Well, you are!  What are you going to do today to express your leadership?

Ram-O-Lympics

Alright Rams!  Over 300 of you signed up for spring sports and, because of the cancellation of face-to-face school, the spring sports season has been cancelled.  That doesn’t mean it has to be the end of “sports” all together though...we just can’t practice together or play games.  WVJH will be hosting the Virtual Ram-O-Lmypics over the next two weeks.  I would like to encourage you to post videos and pictures of you doing some what athletic things.  Don’t forget to use the #RAMDEMIC and @wvjh208 tags.  Have fun with this!  It’s great if you have skills and athletic abilities, but it’s even better if you don’t.  Have fun with it and don’t forget to tag us.  Good luck Rams!
