C-Stands!
Whether it’s lights, mics, cameras, or other gear, there’s nothing quite like a c-stand to reliably position things exactly where you need them. A good c-stand will last pretty much the rest of your life. There are a million different ones out there, but this is the one I’ve recently acquired for myself and it’s been a joy to use:
