The Golden Rule
Matthew 7:12-14
12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
We learned this lesson in Kindergarten, treat people the way you want to be treated. It's a simple, yet incredibly profound guide for life. But does Jesus really mean for us to follow this guideline in today's culture of online outrage and social media justice warriors? I think He does. In fact, this is more than a guideline, for Christians this is our way of life.
I hope you will join us online for worship this Sunday at OKC First Church as we complete our series examining the Sermon on the Mount. This "golden rule" of Jesus' will challenge us to lead with kindness, respect, and grace as we engage with our fractured world. We will explore how this "golden rule" will likely become the most fruitful evangelistic tool we can use in today's culture. I hope to see each of you online or in person this Sunday morning at 10:45 at OKC First Church for our worship celebration.
