There are three words to describe the sense of learning to live in positivity about circumstances: grateful, thankful and appreciative. To me, these words mean exactly the same thing. They are three ways to say I am learning to see the good in even the most difficult situations. Living in appreciation is a skill that mature people have learned through trial and error. It is not simple...at all, but so important because life isn't getting any easier. My name is Monica Mouer, and I am a licensed therapist and supervisor as well as the director of the Center for Transformation. We exist to resource therapists with skills for personal growth that leads to professional outcomes. We have discovered that the implementation of the Life Model in our lives as therapists has led to more fulfillment in our personal life and relationship and amazing insight and growth in the lives of our clients as we model and teach these practices to them. This episode details the an understanding of how to live in appreciation. The world is a scary place, and as therapists, we are faced with some of the worst stories day in and day out. And we can't just fake appreciation. We have to go where we need to go, to process our own pain and disillusionment so we can come out the other side with a positive perspective that is based on wisdom and maturity. Let's go!
