Alexis Tearney Kuhl is the second generation owner and head instructor of Tearney’s Martial Arts. She is the daughter of Greg and Judy Tearney, 10th degree Black Belts. Alexis is a 5th degree Black Belt instructor. After 51 years, Greg and Judy decided to cease physical operations of their school - partly due to Covid, and also due to a surprise cancer diagnosis for Greg. Alexis reincorporated the business and pivoted to a virtual format. She teaches live, online classes to children and adults in both karate and kickboxing. Alexis, with her husband Jordan, also owns and operates an e-commerce store name Lhük Vintage. They sell vintage clothing and merchandise.
Without a physical space for either business, Alexis has become very active on social media. She provides free workouts, motivation, wellness advice, and positive content through Facebook and Instagram. Her content has caught the attention of local press, but also nationally on the NBC show “All Access”.
