Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 5. I will then key in on verses 15-18: Drink water from your own cistern, And running water from your own well. Should your fountains be dispersed abroad, Streams of water in the streets? Let them be only your own, And not for strangers with you. Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice with the wife of your youth. I mention that the first part of this proverb speaks of the peril of adultery, but I am focusing on the importance of be committed to the marriage vows that you made to your partner. I will then go into 1 Corintians: Chapter 13: 1-7. I will go over the first three verses and give a little discourse about them, but then I will go over verses 4-8 - which we refer to as the definition of love. After reading verses 4-8, I will go over five points that we should keep in mind as we live our daily lives: 1. Love suffers for a long time (if we truly love someone we need to be patient with them); 2. Love does not envy (we should rejoice when people we love has something wonderful happen in their lives - rather than being jealous and wishing it had happened to us; 3. Love is not provoked (this is a big one - we need to endure and overcome the temptation to be short with those we truly love; 4. Love does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; and 5. Love endures all things (this goes along with the marriage vows we spoke to our spouse when we were at the altar.
