Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley.  Today we will be going over Proverb 7.  I will then go over verses 1-3.  I am going to give a brief testimony about playing golf earlier this week.  I got to share the love of God with someone who joined our group.  My current desire is threefold.  1.  I want to have more faith.  What is faith.  Hebrews 11:1 gives us the definition of faith.  Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence not seen.  In other words, faith is not something that we can see, but something in the unseen, or spiritual realm.  We get faith by doing what Paul wrote in his letter to the Romans - Chapter 10: verse 17.  For faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.  The only way to increase our faith is by either hearing the word of God or reading it on our own.  I will then read Hebrews, Chapter 11: verse 6 which states that it is impossible to please God without faith.  I will then give a scriptural example of someone who had the faith to be healed.  A leper came to Jesus in Luke 5: verses 12-16 and told Jesus that, If you are willing, I know that you can heal me.  Jesus told him that He was willing, and he was immediately made well.  2.  I want to know Him.  In Mathew's gospel Chapter 7: verses 7-12 it describes how we can get to know Jesus.  We must invite Him into our hearts.  It has to be something that we actually pursue - He will not come into our hearts unless we let Him in.  3.  I want to be like Him.  1 John 4: verse 17 tells us that:  Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgement; because as He is, so are we in this world.  This verse tells us that we can (and literally should) become more like Him.  And, a promise of God that will be ours is that, if we let Him in, Philippians 4:verse 7 tells us that the peace of God will guard your hears and minds as we live in Christ Jesus.  Glory to God!
