Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 4. I will then key in on verse 7: Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. Proverb 4 is primarily talking about the benefits that come is you have wisdom in your life. It is one of the most impassioned of all of the chapters of Proverbs. I will then go over James 1: verse 5 - which asks us to pray for wisdom (if we need it), but verse 6 tells us to ask in faith. So - if we are to pray for wisdom, let us believe by faith that God will give it to us. I will then read the prayer that Saint Paul prayed to God for the church in Ephesus (or for us believers today), beginning in Chapter 1, versus 15-23. Paul prayed that we would have spiritual wisdom. In closing, I will revisit verse 7 and remind everyone that wisdom is the principal thing - in other words it is something that we should truly desire and seek after. I will close with a blessing and an encouragement to join a faith-based church that preaches the gospel and a reminder that we are to surround ourselves with like-minded individuals (Christians) that we can encourage and pray with.
