Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 23. I will then key in on verses 15 & 16: My son, if your heart is wise, My heart will rejoice - indeed, I myself; Yes, my inmost being will rejoice When your lips speak right things. Friends, God rejoices when the words of our mouth speak "right things." When I think of this, I think of Proverb 18:21 - Death and Life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. When we speak, our words should life people up and encourage them. I will then sing the chorus of a song that has been on my heart lately - to Life Jesus Higher. If we lift Jesus up (in the words that we speak) people will be drawn to us. I will then sing two verses (and the chorus) for Jesus Loves Me. I would like for you to learn these words and have them on the "tablets of our hearts," for times when we just want to praise God, or should we ever fall into depression. I will then go back over verses 15 & 16 and encourage people to be watchful of the words that come out of our mouths.
