Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 25. I will then key in on verse 11 - A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold In setting of silver. We are to choose our words carefully. The book of James, chapter 3: verses 5-13 tell us how severe our words can be and how, in and of ourselves, we will have great difficulty controlling our tongues. Our words can be very destructive - so much so they can end close friendships, marriages that have lasted for years, or a working relationship that you felt would bring a future pension. We will then take a look at Proverb 18:verse 21 and learn that: Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Yes, folks, please choose your words carefully. I test I often ask myself before I say anything is this: Is it 1. kind; is it 2. true, and is it 3. necessary? If you can not answer yes to the three questions, hold your tongue until another opportunity arises to speak again. If you do this I believe, and declare, you will strengthen your relationships and live a happier life.
