Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 15. I will then go over verses 2, 5 & 7: The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, But the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness; A fool despises his father's instruction, But he who receives correction is prudent; The lips of the wise disperse knowledge, But the heart of the fool does not do so. Friends, if we put these three verses together, this is what I come up with. First of all, the fool does not want to be corrected, and he does not want instruction. This is someone who think s they know it all and they are not interested in whether people appreciate what comes out of their mouth or not. Conversely, if you have acquired wisdom, the words that come out of your mouth will be words of righteousness, and will usually being forth fruit. We will then continue our study on the book of Exodus. Today we will have a brief overview of Chapter 8. This chapter entails the plague of the frogs, the plague of the lice, and the plague of the flies. When discussing the plague of the frogs I will read verses 1-6 & 13-15. During this plague Pharaoh hardens his own heart for the first time. During the plague of the lice, we will read verses 16-19. In this plague Pharoah's magicians are unable to also conjure up lice. Their words to Pharaoh in verse 19 reflect their thoughts - "This is the finger of God!" During the plague of the flies, God will separate the Egyptians from the Israelites for the first time. After the flies have infiltrated the land, Pharaoh attempts to negotiate with Moses and Aaron. He tells Moses that they can sacrifice to their God in the land. Moses would not agree to this. Then, Pharaoh tells Moses that they can go into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to their God. But when reading verses 31-33, Pharaoh again hardens his heart and will not let the people go. CALL TO ACTION: Go out of your way to compliment one person for each of the next six days. SCRIPTURE READING: If you want to read one chapter - read Exodus - Chapter 8 in its entirety (I didn't even read half of the chapter); If you want to read two chapters, add the Book of Hebrews, Chapter #11. I believe if you read this chapter every day for one month, your life will begin to change. If you are willing to read three chapters, reread todays Proverb - Proverb 15 in its entirety.
