Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 26. I will then key in on verse 3: A whip for the horse, A Bridle for the donkey; And a rod for the fool's back. This verse highlights the fact that fools are rarely motivated to do well. As you would with a donkey, or a horse, you have to work hard in order for you to get across to a fool the importance of doing good deeds or saying words that will be a blessing to others. Today, we will continue our study on the book of Exodus. We will read the first 28 verses of the 12th chapter of Exodus. This chapter describes the institution of the Passover and the requirements of what you are to do. We go over the fact that either a lamb or goat are to be killed by each family (if the family is to small by itself for a lamb they are to share the meal with their neighbor). They are to roast the lamb or goat and are to eat it all, if at all possible. If there is any leftovers they are to be burned in the fire. You are to eat this meal with your belt on, your sandals on your feet, and a staff in your hand (as they did not know when they would be required to leave the land of Egypt. They are to put blood on the doorposts (so that the Death Angel will Pass over your house). The firstborn of every household in Egypt (from the Pharaoh - or king himself, to every household - even to the firstborn of all the animals. There will be a wailing heard throughout the land of Egypt as not a single household was not affected by this tenth, and final, plague. I go over the fact that the Passover is still celebrated by the Jewish people today. I gave the dates that it was celebrated during the year 2022. CALL TO ACTION - do a good deed for a friend, a fellow employee, or a family member. Suggested Scripture reading: If you would like to read one chapter, it should be the 12th chapter of the book of Exodus, if you would like to read a second chapter, add the 11th chapter of the book of Hebrews (the great faith chapter); and if you would like to add a third chapter, it would be to reread today's proverb, Proverb 26 in its entirety.
