Description

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley.  Today we will be going over Proverb 28.  I will then key in on verse 14:  Happy is the man who is always reverent, But he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.  I will talk about how reverent I always feel when I go to a large cathedral in Europe.  Whether it is the Sacred Heart Cathedral in the Montmartre section of Paris, or Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, or some of the other cathedrals in France that I have visited, or others that I have visited in Germany or Italy.  I then contrast that to the second portion of that verse which talks about the hardening of your heart.  Whenever I think of hardening your heart I think of a stiff-arm (of a football player) and trying to keep God out of a particular part of your life.  Friends, if there is a particular part of your life that you are struggling in, I suggest you welcome God with open arms into that part of your life, and NOT keeping him at arms length.  I will then continue with my study on the book of Exodus.  We will once again dive into Chapter 12 (if you did not listen to Monday's podcast, I invite you to listen to that prior to listening to this).  I will first go over the tenth, and final, plague of the death of the firstborn of Egypt.  I will read verses 29 & 30 and zero in on the fact that there was not a single house of the entire land of Egypt that did not have a member of the household die.  That is very sobering.  I will then read the entire portion of scripture which describes the Exodus (Chapter 12: verses 31-42).  I will highlight two things: the great number of people that this entailed (600,000 men alone and maybe up to 3 to 3 1/2 million total people.  2.  The fact that they plundered the Egyptians prior to leaving the land (everyone had asked their neighbors for articles of silver, articles of gold, and articles of clothing - and the Egyptians were eager to give them whatever they asked for.  I will then go over the CALL OF ACTION - and ask everyone to do a good deed for anyone today (whether it be a neighbor, a friend, or a family member).  Suggested scripture reading:  1.  If you are going to read one chapter - please read Exodus Chapter 12 in its entirety; 2.  If you would like to read two chapters, add the 11th chapter of the book of Hebrews; and 3.  If you would like to read a third chapter, add the 28th chapter of the book of Proverbs (our proverb of the day).
