Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today, we will be going over Proverb 2. I will then key in on verse 6 - For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding. Friends, to really acquire wisdom, you must have the Fear of the Lord. That is the beginning of knowledge (Proverb 1:7); which, as you apply that knowledge will lead to understanding; will will eventually lead to wisdom. Today we will continue our study on the topic of humility. Today we will look at a woman named Ruth. Ruth had married a man from a family that had come from the land of Judah. She had been with him ten years, when he died. She had fallen in love with her mother-in-law Naomi. Naomi had now lost her husband and both of her sons, and was in a foreign land. She wished to move back to her homeland of Judah. She loved her daughters-in-law, but suggested that they go back to their real parents. One chose that path, but Ruth "clung" to Naomi. I will read Ruth, Chapter 1, verses 16-17. Ruth humbled herself before Naomi. Then, she humbles herself before Boaz, a friend of Naomi's former husband. I will read Chapter 2: verses 10-13. She ends up marrying this man, Boaz, and had a child with him. She became the great, great, Grandmother of King David of Israel. Suggested scripture reading: If you can find time, read this short book of the Bible titled Ruth. It is short (only four chapters) and is a study in humility.
