Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 12. I will then key in on verse 4 - An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, But she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones. Friends, this week I caused shame to my wife. I got into the flesh while playing cards with a couple family members who were visiting. I wasn't winning and acted like a little baby! I had no excuse - it was very humbling and embarrassing. Friends, we all make mistakes. I had to ask for forgiveness and repent of my actions. Friends, when we do make mistakes it is important to simply get back up and begin walking again. Today I will continue my series on how to renew your minds. Please look at my lineup and visit the previous three podcast on this topic. Today we will look at Romans, Chapter 10, verse 17. This verse tells us that faith comes by hearing - and hearing by the Word of God. Friends, faith is defined in the Book of Hebrews, Chapter 11, verse 1. This verse tells us that faith is the things that are hoped for, the evidence NOT seen. In other words, we have to look into the "spiritual" realm. This is a stretch for many people, because they are used to believing only what their five senses tell them. I then touch on verse 6 of this same chapter. This verse tells us that it is impossible to please God without faith. In addition it tells us that we must believe that God exists, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. In other words, if we truly want to live the kind of life that God wants us to have, we have to be diligent to open up the Bible and begin reading about His son Jesus and adhere to the commands He has given us. Call to Action - Ask God where you stand on this issue of faith. Do you dare to live your life "by faith" and not by sight? Suggested scripture reading - today, reread the 12th Proverb and read the 11th chapter of the Book of Hebrews; tomorrow - read the 13th proverb, and the 11th Chapter of Hebrews; and on Sunday, read the 14th proverb, and the 11th Chapter of Hebrews.
