Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be looking at Proverb 15. I will then key in on verse 3. The eyes of the Lord are in every place, Keeping watch on the evil and the good. Friends, the Lord is aware and watching everything that we do. If we are living life the right way, this should give us great comfort. Friends today I am going to introduce you to the author of Matthew's gospel. He is found in his own gospel in Chapter 9, verses 9-13. Matthew was a tax collector and was despised by almost everyone in the region where he lived. As a tax collector he worked under Roman control. He earned his living basically by extorting money from the Jewish people. He could charge as much as he felt the people would pay. Because of this, he became a very wealthy man - but he realized something was missing from his life. When Jesus came to his tax collector's booth and asked him to, "Follow me," he gladly complied. His life would forever be changed. However, that evening he invited many people to his house (included a number of fellow tax collectors). The religious leaders asked Jesus' followers why he consorted with sinners. Jesus said that He came to save the lost, not people that were OK. Call to action - look for opportunities to pay compliments to people or to lend a helping hand to anyone who looks like they could use some help.
