Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 31. I will then go over verse 20 - She extends her hand to the poor, Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy. Friends, the virtuous wife is a pleasure to behold. She takes care of her family, but, once she takes care of her family, and has ensured that their needs are met, she looks for opportunities to seek those who are less fortunate. She is an example of how we all should be! Today we will continue our study of Matthew's gospel. Today we will look at Chapter #7. If you didn't get a chance to listen to the podcast which went over Chapter #5, or the podcast which went over Chapter #6 I invite you to take a look at those. Today we will end the last chapter of the Sermon on the Mount. I will begin by reading verses 1-5. These verses tell us the importance of NOT judging people. Jesus tells us how easy it is for us to judge people - but, we are not to do it. These verses warn us that if we judge people, then we will also be judged. Verse 6 tells us that there are some people that do not want to hear the good news of the gospel. We need to understand that. This does not mean that we can not still be kind to these individuals. We can still be friendly to them. The next topic deals with the importance that if we truly want to develop an intimate relationship with Jesus that we will have to be deliberate in our Bible reading. In other words we have to be "all in". The Narrow way deals with how difficult it is to get into the Kingdom of Heaven. We need to be deliberate in the things we do if we are to receive the blessing God wishes us to have. I will close with the importance of building your life on the foundation of Jesus Christ. I will read verses 24 & 25; and then contrast those two verses with verses 26 & 27 - which apply to those who choose not to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Call to Action - Ask God if there is anything in your life that you should not be doing, or hindering you from having the type of relationship with God that He would like to have with you.
