Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 5. I will then key in on verse 22 - His own iniquities entrap the wicked man, And he is caught in the cords of his sin. Friends, we could be talking about people who break the law here, and are caught and go to jail for a time, but we could also be talking about people who hurt people - either by lying to them or cheating them in some way. These things are not to be dine, and the majority of times when things like this happen many times the people are found out and your reputation may severely be damaged. Just do the right thing - and you can be free from this. Today we will be taking a look at the 9th chapter of Matthew's gospel. In this particular chapter, Jesus heals a paralytic man. Jesus angered a number of scribes when he did this. The next section is when Matthew is called to become a disciple and follow Jesus (I went over this passage two weeks ago today). The next section is when Jesus is questioned about why His disciples don't fast. Jesus told them that He is the bridegroom and that people don't fast when the groom is around. The next passage is about the woman with the issue of blood that was healed simply because she touched the hem of the garment that Jesus wore. He then raises a young girl from the dead! He continues this pattern on healing by cleansing a man that had been demon-possessed and mute and immediately began speaking clearly. I will by reading verses 35-38. These verses tell us that Jesus healed all kinds of sickness and all kinds of diseases. But, the main point of these few short verses is that Jesus had compassion on those who were lost - like sheep having no shepherd. Friends, this is still the case today. We have been called to be the laborers. We are to show the love of God to the World and share the good news! Call to action: Think about this verse - the healing that Jesus did on a regular basis and just ponder what that must have been like. Suggested scripture reading: 1.
