Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 7. I will then go over verse 1 - My son, keep my words, And treasure my commands within you. Friends, this is yet one more verse about the importance of having scripture in our lives. I think about this command to "treasure my commands within you." God has given us instructions that we are to keep - not that it something that we have to do, but simply because it pleases God if we do that. I want God to be pleased with me. He has given me so much - I just want to return the favor and please Him in all that I do. Today we will continue our study on Matthew's gospel. We will be looking at Chapter 10 today. There is so much information in this chapter (way too much to cover on one podcast). I will read verse 1 - this verse talks about the fact that Jesus gave his disciples power over unclean spirits and to heal the sick. Friends, we have that same power as well, now that the Holy Spirit dwells on the inside of us. In verses 5-8 Jesus sent the disciples out two by two and asked them to heal the sick, cast out demons and cleanse the lepers. Verses 12-14 tell us that there will be people who are not interested in hearing the good news that we have to share about God and how Jesus has changed our lives. Be aware of that. It should not scare you, or bother you, but simply remind you that Jesus was a polarizing figure while He was on earth, and He still is today. Verses 19 & 20 tell us that the Holy Spirit is with us and that He will give the words to say when we have a need. Verses 32 & 33 tell us that we should confess Jesus before men. These two verses are very important for us to understand. Call to action: what I'd like for you to do today is ask yourself if you are different than most people - are you being good stewards of what it is God has given you responsibility for? Are you taking care of your yard, your house, your car, and your other possessions? We are responsible to keep everything we have in the best operating condition - so when people look at us they see that we do things a bit different from the norm. We should stand out - in the way we do things, and the things we say. Suggested scripture reading - 1. Reread the proverb of the day, Proverb 7, in its entirety; 2.
