Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 22. I will then look at two verses - verse 6 - Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it & verse 15. Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of correction will drive it far from him. I have a couple things I would like for you to consider. First of all, if you train up your child in the way they should go, the odds of them acting foolishly will be lessened. If they do act foolishly, try to instruct them (without punishment). If if it something you have spoke to them about before, then you can punish them - but if it is something new that they have never done wrong before I prefer to use it as a teachable moment and instruct them (as opposed to punishing them). Today we will be looking at the 17th chapter of Matthew. I will read about the Mount of Transfiguration. This is a wonderful story, and I believe it caught Peter, James, and John offguard. They actually see Moses, Elijah, and Jesus conversing. Then, a cloud comes over them and the actual voice of God speaks, "This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him". Next we hear about a demon-possessed boy whom the disciples could not cast out the demon. Jesus rebukes them for their lack of faith (and their unbelief). He tells them they could not cast it out of the boy because of their unbelief. Jesus restates that He will soon die and be taken away from them.
