Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 5. I will then key in on verse 20 - For why should you, my son, be enraptured by an immoral woman, And be embraced in the arms of a seductress? Friends, this entire chapter of Proverb 5 is entitled The Peril of Adultery. It talks about the trap that we can fall into if we allow ourselves to be enticed by the "thrill" of being with someone of the opposite sex that we do not know. Whether you are a man or woman, there are people of the opposite sex that may allure or entice you by dressing seductively and tempting you to wander from fidelity to your spouse. If you give in, the moment will usually brief and, although the short term feelings of bliss may enrapture you for a moment the guilt and shame that follows will haunt you in the days to come. Today we will continue on our study of Matthew's gospel. We will talk about the Pharisees and Sadducees and how they often tempted Jesus and tried to trap Him with their words. I will go over the sect of the Sadducees and explain their thought and what they believed in. Suggested scripture reading. 1. Reread the proverb of the day, Proverb 5 in its entirety; 2. Reread in its entirety the 22nd chapter of Matthew's gospel.
