Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 2. I will then key in on verse 7 - He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly. Friends, God has made it very clear throughout scripture that wisdom is important, and it is something that we should all aspire to have in our lives. This verse also tells us that the Godhead (whether you are referring to God, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit) is a shield to those who walk uprightly. That is very comforting to me. On today's podcast we are going to complete the 28th chapter of Matthew's gospel. If you did not tune in to Monday's podcast I invite you to listen to that prior to listening to this podcast. We will begin today's study by reading verses 9 & 10. This is where Jesus reveals Himself to the women at the tomb and He tells them to spread the good news - that Jesus is risen from the dead!!! Next we read about how the soldiers who were guarding the tomb were bribed and paid large sums of money to spread the lie that Jesus' disciples came in the middle of the night and stole the body of Jesus. Many Jewish people still, to this day, do not believe that Jesus was the Messiah. We will end the podcast going over verses 16-20. We know this as the Great Commission. I will read the commentary on several of the verses of this passage from my Bible (the Nelson Study Bible). Call to action: Ask yourself if you are fulfilling the Great Commission in your life (on a regular basis). Our instructions are to go into all the world and preach the Gospel (and tell everyone the good news about Jesus. Suggested scripture reading: 1.
