Description

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 3. I will then key in on verses 1 & 2 - My son, do not forget my law, But let your heart keep my commands; For length of days and long life And peace they will add to you. Friends, these two verses come from King Solomon, but could very easily come from Jesus Himself. They talk about the importance of knowing scripture and following the commands given to us in the Word of God. Today I will go over four passages of scripture from Matthew's Gospel which we should all be familiar with. I recommend you write each of these passages down and that you adhere to the words of these passages. 1. Matthew - Chapter 4: verses 1-4 - This is Jesus telling us the importance of know scripture and becoming familiar with it; 2. Chapter 5: verses 3-12 - these are the Beatitudes found in Matthew's Gospel (Luke records his version of these in Chapter 6: 20-26). Friends, it would be beneficial for anyone listening today to become familiar with these verses and live life according to them; 3. Chapter 6: verses 5-13 - this is the Lord's Prayer - if you haven't memorized these verses, I suggest that you do. This is how we should learn to pray; 4. Chapter 7: verses 1-5 - these verses remind us that we are not to judge (but leave the judging to God Himself); verses 24-27 - these verses tell us to build our life on the rock (that is Jesus Himself - and His word - which is the Bible). Call to action - take a few minutes to review each of these passages of scripture and work at committing them to memory; Suggested scripture reading - 1. Reread the proverb of the day, Proverb 3 in its entirety; 2. Read (and meditate) on the four passages of scripture which we went over today.
