Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 16. I will then key in on verse 7 - When a man's ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. Friends, when I think of this verse I think of the Beatitudes in Matthew, Chapter 5. In verses 43-48 this portion of scripture is titled " Love Your Enemies". Well, verse 7 tells us that if our ways please the Lord, we can now be at peace with our enemies. This reminds me of stories I have heard that during the Civil War, on certain occasions, the Yankees and the Confederates would call a truce (at night) & the upper level of officers would join together & have a couple drinks together and share remembrances when they had fought on the same side in the Spanish American War. This shows that this verse can actually come to pass. Call to Action - Are you at peace with everyone that you know? If not, may I invite you to humble yourself and do all that you can to come to terms with that individual and make things right. If every one of us makes peace with everyone we know, I believe, and declare, that the world will slowly, but surely, begin to become a better place for all. Suggested scripture reading: 1.
