Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 31. I will then key in on verse 23 - Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land. Husbands, many times the reason we have the reputation we have is not so much what we've done, but because of the wife we are married to. Today I will go over three verses having to do with the importance of having a wife, and the way we are to treat them. First of all Proverb 18:22 says that He who finds a wife finds a treasure (NLT) and obtains favor from the Lord. The promise given in the second half of that verse describes the importance the Lord gives to the covenant of marriage and the responsibility he gives to the husband. I will then go to 1 Peter 3: verse 7. (and read the commentary of my Bible - the Nelson Study Bible). I will then go to Paul's letter to the Ephesians, Chapter 5 and read verses 25-33. These verses tell us the way we are to treat our wives. Call to action: Husbands, treat your wife as thought she is the most important person on Earth. She is a treasure - treat her that way!
