Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 25. I will then key in on verses 8-10: Do not go hastily to court; For what will you do in the end, When your neighbor has put you to shame? Debate your case with your neighbor, And do not disclose the secret to another; Lest he who hears it expose your shame, And your reputation be ruined. Friends, we live in a time in our world today where people have so little tolerance of anyone different from them and people take offense at the slightest thing. I am going to go over several scriptures today which hopefully will convince you that there is another way:
1. 1 Peter 4:7-8
2. 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
3. Luke 23: 32-34
4. John 13: 33-35
5. Hebrews 10: 12-14
These verses tell us we should overlook petty sins that people commit against us; we go over the definition of love and how we know whether love is present in a certain situation, or not. We go over Jesus on the cross asking God to forgive the people who have wronged Him and put Him on the cross. We then look at Jesus's new command that He give us today - that we will be known as disciples if we have love one for another. Finally, we close with the fact that by dying on the cross, all of our sins have been forgiven for all time. Because of what He did on the cross for us, we should be quick to forgive. I will then review our verses of the day: Proverb 25:verses 8-10. Call to action: 1. Ask God to bring to your remembrance any person that you need to forgive for anything they have done against you; 2. Ask God to bring to your remembrance whether you have wronged anyone and whether there is anyone you need to ask forgiveness from. Suggested scripture reading: 1. Reread today's proverb, Proverb 25; 2. Review and meditate on the scriptures we have reviewed today.
