Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 2. I will then key in on verse 7 - He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly. Proverb 18:verse 10 says that "The Name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." Friends, God is the answer to any issue we are having in our life. If we come to Him, He can deliver us out of whatever it is that is causing us problems. David understood this. A young shepherd boy, he was asked to deliver supplies and some food to his three brothers who were on the battlefield. In 1 Samuel, Chapter 17, verse 26 is the reaction of David after he sees the giant, Goliath, trying to intimidate the army of Israel. All of the soldiers were cowering in fear, and yet David asks, "Who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?" He was brought before Saul, the king of Israel. Saul looked at him and said that he couldn't possibly fact the giant. I then read verses 34-37. David describes how he has killed a lion, and a bear, and that he will defeat this giant as well. The king say, "Go, and the Lord be with you!" In verses 45-50 David is laughed and mocked by the giant, but David boldly declares that he will kill this giant and cut off his head - which he quickly proceeds to do! Call to action - Ask yourself if you know the power of God, and who you are because you are in His family? We can call on God - because He is a strong tower. He will protect us, and keep us safe from any harm that may be coming our way. Suggested scripture reading: 1. Reread the proverb of the day, Proverb 2 in its entirety; 2.
