Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 5. I will then key in on verse 7 - Therefore hear me now, my children, And do not depart from the words of my mouth. Friends, the first four chapters of Proverbs talk about the importance of acquiring wisdom and living our life according to using that wisdom in all we do. They lead to Chapter 5, which talks about the perils of adultery. This proverb tells us that we can become distracted from our walk with God, and that we can be tempted. Today I am going to go over a passage scripture found in 2 Timothy, Chapter 2. Beginning in verse 15 I will read through verse 23 and go over each verse individually. There are many things we can learn from this passage of scripture. But verse 19 is key - Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: The Lord knows who are His, and Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity. Call to action: Are you a vessel of gold & silver (verse 20) - a Christian who is known for living right and acquiring a good reputation, or one of wood and clay (also verse 20) - someone who professes to be a Christian, but is basically a hypocrite and someone that people talk about in a negative way because you say one thing and live another way.
