Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 9. I will then go over verses 7-9. These verses talk about the scoffer. I looked up the definition of the word "scoffer" and discovered that it is a person who, basically, does not acknowledge or believe that there is a God. That being the case, let's go to Matthew, Chapter 7, verse 6. Part of that verse discusses not casting your pearls before swine (pigs). That means that we are not to share the important things that scripture has to offer us. Many people do NOT want to hear scripture, or about God, or about Jesus. That is OK. It is not what God (or Jesus wants) - 2 Peter 3:9. However, the reality is that God has given every one of us a free will. That is something that He will never take away from us. We all have the decision that we HAVE to make - to receive Jesus, or not to receive Jesus. I then will go over Philippians, Chapter 1, and read verse 9 & 10. These verses tell us that we are to have discernment. We need to know who to share the gospel with, and who NOT to share the gospel with. If you seek God, He will make it clear to you. I will then review the verses of the day, verses 7-9 of Proverb 9 and break them down a bit. Friends, we are not to waste our time sharing the Gospel with people who don't want to hear it, and, yet, we are to love them. We can still be gracious, and kind to these people - because God does love them (whether we understand that, or not). Call to action - ask God to give you discernment (if you feel you need a bit of help in that area). Suggested scripture reading: 1. Reread the proverb of the day today, Proverb 9 in its entirety.
