Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will go over Proverb 16. I will go over verse 3 and combine it with two other scripture verses: 1 Peter 5:7 and Proverbs 3: 5 and 6. Together these verses tell me that whenever we have a decision to make (whether small or major) that we should seek the Lord in prayer. We should ask Him for wisdom and let Him know that we need His help. If we do this, we will not be anxious and can turn our care over on Him. We will then read Genesis Chapter 39: verses 1-6. I will go over three points: 1. The Lord was with Joseph - this statement is in verses 3, 21, and 23 of Chapter 39. I've learned that we should pay attention when the Lord says something three times (especially in the same chapter!). The second point is that Potipher recognized that the Lord was with Joseph, and - because of this he granted him favor. Even though Joseph was a slave, Potipher allowed him to stay in his house and basically run the entire household. Thirdly, the Lord blessed the house of the Egyptian. The point we can learn from this is that, if you are being led by the Spirit of God, that the Lord will bless you!
