Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 17. We will briefly discuss verse 6. I will then go over the story of Psalm 54. The backdrop of this very powerful psalm is that David (and his men) are hiding in the wilderness of Ziph (from King Saul). David prays to God (verses 1-3) that he (God) will protect him (David, and his men) from the people of the land of Ziph. Verses 4 & 5 is an acknowledgement that God is David's helper (and that he will help him with any situation that he is facing). Verses 6 & 7 are both David realizing that God has answered his prayer to God (from verses 1-3) and he is praising God for his goodness and for answering his prayer.
