Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 20. I will then make a few observations on verse 6. I will then spend a few moments going over Joseph and the fact that he has been sold to Potipher and that he has gained favor with Potipher and that he now has been placed in charge of every aspect of his house. We will go over the story in Genesis Chapter 39: beginning in verse 6 through the end of the chapter and see that Joseph was propositioned by Potipher's wife, and yet never gave in to the sexual temptation that he was faced with. Instead, one day the wife of Potipher grabbed the outer garment that Joseph was wearing and literally ripped it off of him. She then bore false witness against Joseph and told her husband that Joseph had come on to her and tried to rape her. Needless to say, Potipher was very displeased when hearing the story and Joseph was thus placed into prison. However, Joseph found favor with the jailer and God was with Joseph. He was thus given control of all of the prisoners and God blessed Joseph - even though he was now a prisoner.
