Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 6. I will then key in on verses 16-19. These verses explain the seven things that the Lord hates. May I suggest that if the Lord hates these things we should hate them as well. I bring out the point that we should look at these seven things in reverse order - that is the order in which God hates them (for example the last item would be the thing the Lord hates the most, etc.). I will contrast these four verses to what God would like for us to live our lives doing (and that is found in Psalm 133: verse 1 - to live in unity with all men. I will then continue our study on the man Joseph - found in the book of Genesis. If you missed Monday's podcast, I invite you to tune in to that and listen to that prior to moving forward with this podcast. I will then begin today's lesson with Genesis Chapter #43. I will read verses 1-17. The four points that I will bring up are: 1. The brothers questioned Joseph's motives - they were really worried that they had been summoned to the palace where Joseph lived. They felt that they were going to have to explain themselves and give account of their actions. 2. The brothers feel they need to explain themselves (carryover from point 1.) 3. Joseph arranges the table in order from Reuben (the oldest brother) to Benjamin the youngest brother - according to age - the brothers are astounded that Joseph would know the order of 11 brothers according to age. 4. Benjamin receives five times everything that is given to the brothers (this is because Joseph favored Benjamin - because this is the only other brother that was born from Joseph's natural mother - Rather).
